We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing problems. A transfer from a prior year is done at the beginning of a new return. It's still possible to transfer your information if you've already started a TurboTax Online return.
To transfer information from a previous tax return, follow these steps:
Enter your credentials (the same as you used last year) and select Sign In.
On the Great to see you again! screen, select Start a new returnfrom the menu, then choose your preferred TurboTax Online product, and select Continue.
On the How did you do your taxes last year? screen, select TurboTax Online, then Continue.
On the Hello again! We're so glad you're back screen, select Yes, then Continue.
Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed through the file transfer process.
If you have a TurboTax Online account, follow the prompts to sign in; your credentials are the same as you used last year. If you don’t have an account, follow the prompts to create one and then sign in.
If you already have a TurboTax Online account: After you sign in, on the Great to see you again! screen, select Start a new returnfrom the menu. Choose the TurboTax Online product you’d like to use and then select Start.
On the How did you do your taxes last year? screen, select TurboTax CD/Download, then Continue.
On the Let’s start with last year’s return screen, select Choose File. Find and select your prior-year TurboTax CD/Download file, and then select Continue.
