How do I decide if my child should carry forward her tuition amount or transfer it to us?

My daughter is in her first year of University and moved for school. I haven't dealt with T2202's since my college days and don't remember the fine details.

    The tuition transfer is non-refundable, so if neither you or your spouse/partner owe taxes, then transfering your child's tuition would be wasting it.
