Tax help for military filers

Hello, I married my Marine back in 2021. He is an resident for Indiana and I'm a Virginia resident. Every year except 2024, we have filled married but separately since we are residents in different states, no one ever told us about MSRRA until this year.  That being said, can I file for a refund for the state of VA for the 2021, 2022, 2023 tax years and get reimbursed for those years that I paid state taxes? My wife is stationed in VA but her HOR is NC, I work in VA aswell and we bought a house this last year in NC. We want to know how to file state taxes if I work in VA. Do I just add my state tax forms onto the MFJ along with her NC taxes? Or do we file state taxes separately?

Is this considered a federal debt like AAFES (Military Star card) told me?Is there's a statute of limitations on garnishment of federal debts. It is my understanding there's a 10 year statute of limitations on collections for federal debts.If it is not considered a federal debt, then how are they able to garnish it?Last week my tax return was offset. I contacted Transworld who is a collections company who garnished the return. They represent AAFES who I had a military Star card with about 15 years ago. When I cleared out of the army, and AAFES, they didn't inform me of any debts. I thought it was paid off but apparently I owed about $3,000. Since then it has accrued $7,000 in interest. It's never showed on my credit and I've never received a notice about it. I've even received returns in the past but this year it was offset and went to trans world. I am in the Coast Guard and I am stationed domestically.  The options are overseas, combat zone/QHDA or national guard.  None of those apply, no I just leave as no entry?

What number is asking for Federal Total

Hi, I had a military pay in Oregon for part year and non military pay outside Oregon for rest of the year. My federal and state wage from Military W2 reads $5200 and $4500 respectively. When doing my oregon state tax, the popup for military exemption showed up. I entered $5200 for federal total , $4500 for AD/Guard/ONGPay and $0 for Other military pay. On oregon source income and adjustments, I see $4500 populate automatically for wages under oregon column. But when I click on "Lets Check it over" button, It says, "Other subtractions statement: Code 319 should have a value lesser than or equal to $.". There is no number after the dollar sign. I plugged in $4500 but when I re-run the check, it brings me back to this screen. What am I doing wrong. Please help.

Will turbotax deduct $30,000 for each our retirements for the state of Virginia?

I have all the boxes checked on the Federal side and once again, TT put the Active Duty Pay on the PA-40. TT even acknowledges the Active Duty status. I read the entire Federal Info Worksheet and there is no place to designate Active Duty.I checked the W-2 Summary--no place for military info.Two years ago I had to file on my state website because I could not correct it in TT. Last year, it knew what to do. This year I'm back to square one.The only thing I can do to stop it is to check a box on the PA-40 Gross Compensation Worksheet. It is a NT/TXBL column.Is this the correct thing to do?Am I missing something when I begin this return? I'd love to know for the future!
